Dear ISSTD Community,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Seattle Conference, and to hear your comments coming in from the virtual audience, as well. As we discussed Post-Traumatic Growth in a Dissociative World, the importance of our work as clinicians, researchers, and advocates became increasingly clear – it is essential that we continue to share knowledge about complex trauma and dissociation in a way that supports individuals and communities seeking to heal.
I’d like to formally thank all the staff and volunteers who make these experiences possible, and highlight the presence of our Creative Arts SIG, who offered a self-care corner full of art supplies, complete with the ability to send notes of care to people in Ukraine. Staff and the SIG leadership also helped coordinate an inspiring and healing art exhibit available throughout the conference. We also hosted mindful movement sessions each morning and will continue these offerings next year in Louisville.
This year we celebrated our first raffle, which was very successful and sent a few lucky participants home with access to virtual education bundles, as well as future conference registrations! Thanks to all who participated and congratulations to the winners.
The ISSTD continues these educational efforts throughout the year via webinars, Professional Training Programs (PTP) programming, and regional conferences. We invite you to join us in Denver, New York, Arizona and Melbourne, or at our virtual conference this October! We are also in the process of updating our Treatment Guidelines, to be published in 2023, so there is much to look forward to. I encourage you to stay connected to this rich community through our online platform and upcoming events.
