The Mid-Atlantic Regional Online Community (ROC) has had a productive and exciting year!
Led by a committed team including Kim Foreman and Joan Pollak, Co-Chairs; Rachel Breskman, Moderator; and Abby Vandivier, Secretary; we have offered our membership a stimulating array of presentations and discussions related to trauma.
We started off 2026 with a reflective community discussion facilitated by Co-Chair Joan Pollak on All Things Epstein. March brought us a program by ISSTD Past President Joan Turkus M.D., who provided a timeless and essential review of the psychodynamics of Trauma. In May, legend Ellen Lacter shared a lecture outlining important concepts in understanding and treating organized extreme abuse. We look forward to September’s discussion on normalizing shame in the therapy room facilitated by Aimee McCann and Alexis Hansen. Finally, in December, we are extremely excited to welcome another ISSTD Past President, Richard Chefetz, MD, to help us reflect on transference and countertransference in the work of dissociative disorders.
We are glad to report that our attendance and sense of community has been building. We welcome membership questions and interest in our ROC from any Mid Atlantic state member.
