The Mid-Atlantic Regional Online Community has had a busy year so far! We’ve largely focused on team building and coalescing since transitioning Executive Committee team members in January. Our Community participated in sobering discussions with honest connection about self care during a time of political upheaval during February and May meetings. During our July meeting, Elizabeth Davis, MFA, MS, ATR-BC, LCAT, and Michelle Kahl, LPC, NBCC, CCTP-II, CCDPD, CDCORP, led an important and growth-inducing presentation about the experience of therapists with lived experience of dissociation. We appreciated the genuine and open discussion and encourage other groups to invite Elizabeth and Michelle for a truly eye-opening experience.
This month, Annie Goldsmith, RD, LDN, will be presenting on an important topic, “DID and Eating Disorders 101: A look at practical skills and best practices, as well as theoretical frameworks to guide working at this complicated intersection.” We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from Annie’s expertise.
Finally, the Mid-Atlantic ROC is scheduling an interesting article discussion meeting in November, featuring the following article:
Pierorazio, N. A., Snyder, B. L., Chang, M.-Y., Israel, B. S., & Brand, B. L. (2025). How psychotherapists who practice with clients with dissociative identity disorder experience their work: A reflexive thematic analysis. Counselling and Psychotherapy Research. Advance online publication. https://doi.org/10.1002/capr.12879.
We look forward to another thought-provoking and rich discussion!
