Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight

ISSTD News Seeking Volunteers

This month’s Volunteer Position Spotlight shines on two incredible opportunities to become more involved with ISSTD News as a content writer or content coordinator! Each position has openings for several volunteers.

ISSTD News is looking for individuals that enjoy and have a passion for writing and content creation, and are interested in creating informational, research based, and therapeutic/supportive content for ISSTD members related to complex trauma and dissociation. We want to encourage all members who share these interests to consider applying!

  1. ISSTD News – Content Coordinators

ISSTD News is seeking people willing to take on a role co-ordinating one of our regular feature columns. There are multiple opportunities as the feature columns include: International Spotlight (focuses on the trauma and dissociation field across the world), Spreading the Word (interviews with and articles about people or organisations who are spreading the word about dissociation into the wider community or health field), Kid’s Korner and Creative Spaces. These roles are ideal for someone enjoys researching, networking, liaising, and making connections with colleagues to contribute articles and/or be part of columns for ISSTD News.

2. Coordinator – Student and Emerging Professionals Month

It might also be of interest to our student and emerging professionals group to know that we are seeking someone to help with our September Newsletter. September is Student and Emerging Professional (SEP) month. We love to have articles about our wonderful SEP members or other SEP-related content for this month. This person/persons would need to be available occasionally during July – September, as we develop ideas and articles, but total hours of commitment are quite minimal.

3. ISSTD News – Content Writer

ISSTD News is also seeking people interested in writing articles for ISSTD News on a casual basis. We are always interested in articles for International Spotlight, Clinical Reflections, Kid’s Korner, and we welcome submissions of creative works. In addition, throughout the year we seek articles for special events such as DID Awareness Day (late Feb/early March), articles about our Annual conference (April/May), and commemorative events such as World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (July) and World Mental Health Day (October) – just to name a few. Interested writers may also come up with other ideas and suggestions for articles. This role is ideal for someone enjoys writing, developing content, and working alongside reviewers and editors to more fully develop ISSTD News content.

If you are interested in learning more about any of these opportunities, or if it sounds like something you would be interested in being a part of, please to learn more about this opportunity in detail and how to apply, email membership@isst-d.org.

We welcome all members to apply. We would love to hear from you!
