Central and Eastern Canada ROC

The Central and Eastern Canada Regional Online Community (ROC) continues to support ISSTD members across Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

In 2026, Claire Vernon returns as Chair, while Joan Boyd transitions from last year’s Moderator role into the position of Secretary. The ROC is also pleased to welcome Sara Pulins as this year’s Community Moderator.

Founded in 2020, the ROC is now entering its sixth year. With more than 40 members, the community is dedicated to representing ISSTD across Central and Eastern Canada while connecting clinicians to trauma and dissociation-related resources, research, training, knowledge-sharing opportunities, and professional support. In doing so, it continues to strengthen a network that spans nearly half the country and three time zones.

The ROC continues to host well-attended monthly online meetings for members. These gatherings provide opportunities for clinical discussion, updates, skill development, and access to training. Most importantly, they create a supportive space where clinicians can connect and share the complexities of working with trauma and dissociation. Discussions cover a broad range of topics relevant to trauma and dissociative disorders, helping to support the professional growth of both experienced and newer therapists. Members also benefit from the community listserv, which serves as a valuable channel for sharing referrals and additional resources.

The Central and Eastern Canada ROC is excited to continue building a strong Canadian presence within ISSTD and to foster meaningful opportunities for connection and knowledge-sharing across the Eastern provinces. This year, the ROC is especially pleased to welcome new members from Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Those interested in joining are invited to contact Joan Boyd, Secretary for the Central and Eastern ROC, at jboyd@centrefortherapy.ca.
