Board Briefs

Building Connections

Welcome to our latest update from ISSTD’s Board of Directors.

As noted in our last two briefs, the Board has been putting a significant amount of time into the development of our next 3-year strategic plan. Our five goals have been identified and finishing touches are being put on the operationalization of each goal. The five goals are:

  1. Increase, diversify, engage, and retain members
  2. Develop, align and strengthen the quality, consistency, accessibility, and impact of current and new educational programs
  3. Initiate and cultivate strategic partnerships
  4. Develop and implement a sustainable approach to financial management and growth
  5. Develop and implement a sustainable approach to staff and volunteer management, integration and growth

We look forward to having the plan finalized soon.

In August, many members of the Board met with board members from the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD) in an effort to continue to increase our collaboration and support of one another. ESTD will be holding their 10th International Congress of the ESTD this October in Lisbon, Portugal, and a number of ISSTD members will be presenting.

The Board also voted to approve the formation of the New England Regional Online Community. This is an exciting addition to our regional communities, especially in advance of our Annual Conference in Boston next year. Our hope is to one day have a Regional Online Community in every location we have a member, and we have been steadily working towards that goal.

As always, we are very grateful for your continued membership and support of our Society. Please feel free to keep in touch with the board; we always welcome feedback and suggestions.

With Gratitude,

ISSTD Board of Directors
