ISSTD received a bumper crop of submitted proposals for next year’s Annual Conference. The Scientific Committee and the Annual Conference Committee were involved in the process of deciding which workshops, papers and posters to select for inclusion. The process of evaluating the submissions began with the Scientific Committee, whose members donated many hours to blindly reviewing and rating each submission. Those submissions evaluated favorably were moved forward, then further evaluated using a structured process, by the Annual Conference Committee. The process culminated in final decisions being made, with several high-quality proposals being waitlisted. In truth, because there were so many excellent submissions, it was not possible to include all that we would have liked, and we do hope that those who were not selected feel encouraged to submit for upcoming regional conferences, webinars and future annual conferences.
The 44th ISSTD Annual Conference will be held in Boston, MA, USA, from March 4-7, 2027. We will be meeting at the same, very nice, hotel as 2025, the Hilton Boston Park Plaza. This year’s theme is “Beacons of Hope: Lighting the Way to Connection and Courage.” As mentioned in our column last month, next year’s plenary speakers include Ruth Lanius, MD, PhD, Usha Tummala-Narra, PhD, and John Read, PhD.
Registration for the 2027 ISSTD Annual Conference will be opening in just a few weeks. The early bird deadline will be in mid-December. Looking forward to seeing you in Boston!
