Research Participation Opportunity: Dissociative Experiences in Sex Trafficking Survivors

I am a doctoral student at the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University, and under the advisement of Dr. James Randall Noblitt, I am conducting research for my dissertation on dissociative experiences in sex trafficking survivors. Specifically, I am exploring the levels of dissociation survivors experience, the kinds of dissociative experiences survivors most commonly encounter, and whether survivors with some demographic backgrounds experience more dissociation than survivors with other demographic backgrounds. This research aims to help clinicians identify dissociative experiences in survivors more readily, and, subsequently, devise more effective treatment plans. This research also aims to increase the psychological community’s awareness surrounding commercial sexual exploitation, thereby allowing the psychological community to better support survivors along their paths of recovery.

Sex trafficking survivors, who are over the age of 18 and able to read fluently in English, are invited to participate. Participation involves answering brief survey questions regarding current dissociative experiences and demographics. The survey questions may be answered on Qualtrics, a HIPPA-compliant site, and should take approximately 16 minutes to complete. However, participants are allowed to take breaks and answer at any pace that feels comfortable for them. Participation is confidential and identities will remain anonymous, even to the researchers.
