There are four ISSTD funds that I want to highlight because they provide support and assistance that is worth knowing about.
The David Caul Graduate Research Fund was established to support student research and named after ISSTD’s fourth president. David was a pioneer in the field in the very early days, and he was a significant leader in the field of dissociation when very little was known, and its validity was widely dismissed. These funds are available for research that is primarily focused on dissociation or closely related topic areas.
The Research and Education Fund supports education, assessment, treatment modalities, research and awareness centered upon dissociation. Support from this fund is available to all professionals, clinicians and researchers. It was established to balance the lack of education and research in the areas of complex trauma, dissociation and recovery.
The Goodwin Educational Fund was created to defray the cost of one ISSTD training event. It is meant to provide support for professionals who want to advance their knowledge of complex trauma and dissociation and do not have the means to participate in a training activity. The funding is available to all professional members of ISSTD needing support.
And finally, the General Fund supports endeavors to expand training and programming for ISSTD. In years past, general funding has enabled ISSTD to acquire new training platforms to manage our PTP programs, expand online training, expand services and programming to students and emerging professional and much more.
So, please be aware of these funds if you need support, and know that when we are selling raffle tickets or promoting special events at our conferences, like the tasting events, those proceeds are going to our funds. Also, please consider a recurring monthly donation to one of the funds that interest you. Your contributions will go to good causes. You can find the link to donate here.
