Accepting Nominations for the 2026 Board of Directors September 2-30, 2025

ISSTD is currently accepting nominations for the 2026 Board of Directors, and we invite members who care deeply about our community, our mission, and our future to consider stepping into leadership.

Each year, we seek thoughtful, collaborative, and dedicated individuals who lead through action, care, and vision. Some of our most impactful leaders stepped into these roles with confidence. Others began unsure of whether they were “ready” or fit the image of a leader. The truth? There is no single type of leader we look for. Everyone brings something unique to the table, and that’s exactly what makes our Board successful.

Serving on the Board is an opportunity to:

  • Bring your unique voice and perspective to the table
  • Help shape the direction and future of ISSTD
  • Collaborate with fellow leaders to ensure the Society continues to grow in alignment with our mission and the evolving needs of our members

Whether you see yourself in this role or know someone whose presence would enrich our Board, we encourage you to consider submitting a nomination.

Nominations are open from September 2 – 30, 2025 for the following positions beginning January 1, 2026:

  • President-Elect – One-year term followed by one year as President and one year as Immediate Past President
  • Treasurer – Three-year term (may serve two consecutive terms)
  • Director Member (multiple openings) – Three-year term (may serve two consecutive terms)

Please take a moment to read all qualifications and submit your nomination here.

Get Involved Through SIG and ROC Leadership

If you’re looking for a way to get more connected and build your resume, consider a volunteer leadership position within one of our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) or Regional Organizing Committees (ROCs).

These roles require a minimal time commitment (often less than an hour per week) but make a big impact.

For students and emerging professionals especially, SIG and ROC roles are a fantastic way to:

  • Build your professional network
  • Gain meaningful leadership experience
  • Strengthen your résumé and LinkedIn profile
  • Be part of a supportive, engaged community
  • Help shape the future of the field while working alongside people who share your interests

Don’t worry if you’re not yet part of a SIG or ROC—it’s easy to get involved!
Just log into your ISSTD membership account at ISSTDWorld.ISST-D.org and visit the SIG & ROC page. From there, you can email the listed secretary of the group you’d like to join.

Please email membership@isst-d.org with any questions. We hope to see you within our next group of volunteer leaders, shaping the future of ISSTD!
