Greetings from the Southern Regional Online Community (ROC)! As a ROC, our group consists of members of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) from Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. If you are an ISSTD member who is reading this and you live in one of these states, but you are not yet a member of the Southern ROC, it is free to join, and we would love to have you join us! The Southern ROC creates opportunities to connect with other ISSTD members who live in the Southern region of the United States as well as opportunities to learn and dialogue about trauma- and dissociation-related topics.
This past year, Southern ROC leadership has facilitated a monthly discussion about articles published in those publications belonging to the ISSTD, hosted social hours, and met up to socialize at in-person ISSTD conferences. As future activities, the Southern ROC plans to continue with article discussions, social hours, and do meetups at conferences, and also has plans to do more member engagement activities like live collaborative learning from the ISSTD library’s videos, hosting speakers, among others. As a member, you will also be afforded the opportunity to participate in leadership, should you decide to have your name put on the yearly election ballot. If you live in the Southern region of the United States and are looking for a place to plug in, learn, and connect with other professionals in the South, Southern ROC leadership invites you to join! To join the Southern ROC, you simply need to email our current Secretary, who’s email address is available in ISSTDWorld, with a request to join, and she will help get you connected! We certainly hope you will join us if you are not yet a member, we and wish you enjoyable Fall and Winter seasons.
Happy Fall, Y’all!
