ISSTD is excited to offer both in-person and virtual conferences in the months ahead. Below please find information for two upcoming US Regional Conference as well as our 2022 Virtual Conference. Information our regional conference in Melbourne, Australia will be available in the coming weeks. We hope to see many of you in-person or online!


NEW YORK REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Therapeutic and Research Innovations for the Treatment of Complex Post Traumatic Conditions
September 8-9, 2022 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET

Location: 4W43 Event Space | 4 West 43rd Street (New York, NY)

Join us in New York City from September 8-9, 2022 for our second New York Regional Conference, featuring Richard Loewenstein, Lou Himes, Eva Young, and Faige Flakser. This event will kick off with a full-day presentation from Richard Loewenstein that will focus on an introduction of the framework to the new ISSTD Adult Treatment Guidelines. The second day will feature three 90 Minute Workshops on Shame, Children and Adolescents, and those identifying as LGBTQIAA+. These presentations will be information-rich, combining the new treatment recommendations with Dr. Loewenstein’s commentary.  The conference will conclude with in an “Ask Anything” session, where participants can ask questions, present cases, and generally discuss issues that are on their minds, in an open-ended, non-recorded space.

ARIZONA REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Transforming Trauma: Learning from the Past, Embodying the Present & Creating a Healthy Future
October 7-8, 2022 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM MT
Presenters: Lisa and Lynette Danylchuk
Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton Scottsdale Resort | 5001 North Scottsdale Road (Scottsdale, AZ)

Participants will learn how to identify symptoms of posttraumatic stress and differentiate between manifestations of PTSD and dissociation. The presenters discuss how to work with challenging clients, particularly those who do not respond quickly to common interventions. Rooted in recent neuroscience and phase oriented treatment, Lynette and Lisa will outline foundational strategies for identifying and treating complex trauma and dissociation. Participants will have the opportunity to practice somatic grounding skills to facilitate coregulation and interrupt patterns of improve nervous system regulation and reduce intrusive thoughts & experiences. This training focuses on practical applications based on real life clinical experiences responding to the most challenging clinical moments, and includes an afternoon consultation clinic with Lynette and Lisa, who combined bring over 50 years of clinical experience supporting the most traumatized populations in the US and abroad. Participants will walk away with a deep understanding of what trauma is and how it impacts us, skills to cultivate embodied presence in sessions, and a roadmap for how we can reduce harm, cultivate healing, and pave a healthier path forward for both clients and communities.

VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

Compounding and Confounding Components in the Assessment, Treatment, and Healing from Complex Trauma and Dissociation

We are excited to announce our 2022 Fall Virtual Conference! Join ISSTD for this two-day conference featuring plenary speakers Dan Shaw and Shekhar Seshadri. This event will include a mix of 90 minute and 3 hour workshops in addition to our two plenary presentations that will address the assessment, treatment, and healing from complex trauma and dissociation.
