DBT-Informed Group for People with Dissociated Identities
ISSTD Members Kate McMaugh and Noula Diamantopoulos have developed a DBT-informed group program, specifically adapted for people with dissociated identities. This is a skills- based, psychoeducational program, with a strong focus on safety and stability. Noula and Kate will use psychoeducation, group discussion, practice sessions and creative methods to engage group participants. They are running this as a pilot group, with no cost to participants.
There will be two groups:
Group 1: Face to Face Group in Sydney, Australia from 6-8 pm Tuesdays 14 April – 23 June
Group 2: Online group, 10am-12pm Fridays, 17 April – 26 June. This group is particularly for people who cannot get to the Sydney group. (Due to time zone differences this group would best serve those in Australia/New Zealand area).
Noula and Kate are particularly looking for referrals for these groups. Participants must be female, over 18 years of age, and have a dissociative identity disorder. (A full list of participant inclusion requirements is available upon request.) It is essential that participants are willing and able to take part in a full pre and post evaluation of the group and are motivated to give us open and honest feedback so we can adapt and improve the group. In addition, participants must be engaged in individual therapy for the duration of the group. We are also interested in feedback from therapists. The individual treating therapist would also be asked to complete a brief pre and post group questionnaire as part of our evaluation.
Closure for Referrals: Friday 28 February, 2020
