The ISSTD Annual Conference Committee is delighted to bring you the expertise and diversity of our 2026 Annual Conference speakers! So many powerful leaders in the field of trauma are scheduled to offer participants information to enhance their practices and understanding of trauma through many different lenses.
The pre-conference speakers are scheduled on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27, followed by 3 rich days March (28 – 30) of plenary and breakout sessions at the Hyatt Regency in Portland, Oregon.
The preconference sessions offer extended training opportunities to delve deeply into issues that impact nearly every trauma therapist. The topics include issues in providing care from an EMDR framework (D. Michael Coy), looking at the issue of human rights, trauma and dissociation (Kim Baranowski), grounding practices (Bethany Brand), suicide (Tyson Bailey), art enhanced trauma treatment for non-art therapists (Peggy Kolodny and Elizabeth Davis), and shame and dissociation (Ken Benau and Rick Hohfeler), just to name a few.
In the opening plenary session, Milissa Kaufman, MD, PhD, will offer insights into DID from the perspective of a psychiatrist with lived experience. A second plenary with invited speakers Bethany Brand, Lynette Danylchuk, Lisa Danylchuk and Jennifer Gómez will reflect on where the profession stands and what is possible for the future.
The remainder of the 3-day conference is peppered with topics of trauma and dissociation from various angles including supervision (with a panel including Laura Brown, Steven Gold, and Marta Miranda), sessions that look at the lived experience of trauma, DID and shame (including sessions with Troy Love, Timothy Brewerton, Felicia Rosario and Natalee Stockdale, and Kim Guarascio), how clinicians can meet these clients with skill, compassion, and clarity (including sessions with Joanne Twombly, Alexis Arbuthnott and Fiyinfoluwa Peluola, and Heather Davediuk Gingrich), and trauma and healing from a multicultural lens, (including our third plenary session with Robyn Gobin, and a panel discussion with Susan Pease Banitt, Leann Johnson, Javelin Hardy, and Lisa Danylchuk).
Sessions are available for clinicians at all levels of expertise from beginners to advanced. Informational bios on all of our speakers can be found here.
