Dear ISSTD Members,
As we approach the end of 2023, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible year we’ve shared as a Society. Your commitment to helping us advance clinical, scientific, and societal understanding about the prevalence and consequences of chronic trauma and dissociation has been the key to our success this year. Thank you to all of you who have given your time to the Society this year by volunteering, donating to our Funds or participating in our fundraising events.
In 2023, we accomplished so much together as we concluded a number of projects that were a part of our 2021-2023 Strategic Plan. Some major achievements in the last three years include:
- Launching the Online Learning Center with more than 400 hours of recorded content
- Moving to self-management of APA and ASWB credits
- Added six new SIGs and five new ROCs
- Launching a new Member management system allowing auto-renewal and two year memberships
- Introducing the annual DID Awareness Day webinar with An Infinite Mind, Beauty After Bruises and Blue Knot Foundation
- Increasing number of organizational members and adding new organizational membership benefits
- Create a multi-year budget to project future revenue and expense
- Increasing staff to three full time and one part time positions
- Developing new method for identifying future leaders for SIG, committee and Board leadership positions
- Introducing close captioning at major conference and recorded content platform with full transcripts of programs
- Beginning the translation of public resources into Spanish
None of these achievements would be possible without the support of our members, volunteers and staff. As we stand on the cusp of a new year, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for ISSTD. Our vision for 2024-2026 is ambitious as we launch a new strategic plan, and with your continued support, we are confident that we can achieve even greater success.
